Motto:
The consciousness that we are part of this world and the acceptance of our responsibility for its state necessarily leads to the conclusion of being not only passive witnesses but in all our powers to become active participants and influence events in a way we believe to be the right one.

about festival :

The international multicultural festival Colour Meeting has one aim – to contribute towards better understanding between Czech society and members of other cultures, nations and ethnic groups and finding mutual understanding and tolerance. We are aware that this is long way but it seems as the only one leading from violent solutions of conflicts towards universal and sustainable coexistence.

The Festival has straight humanistic, anti-racist and multicultural message. As we are aware that spreading these ideas is only possible through long term commitment, our ambition is to create annual tradition of open air festival that brings up issues of multicultural society, minorities, migration, racism and searches for relevant answers. At last, but not least, we want to make it a celebration of meeting other folks that care about the future of their children and the mankind.

We want to contribute not only to the discussion of intolerance, racism, and xenophobia but by focusing on the children and youths audience gradually prevent those negative phenomena to happen. The basic elements of multiculturalism and open society should be passed and explained in a way that is understandable, attractive and will become natural to them for it will be them who, when the time comes, will make the decision about what our country and the world will look like.

The outcome of our work is hard to prove in short scale as we hope that once the Czech society and especially the youth won't be feeling threatened by the world around but on the contrary - it will open itself to new and favourable ideas that will enrich the lives of everyone of us. Will the young Czechs have more confidence thanks to the appreciation of their own roots and traditions? Would they be able to compete in the world of newcomers who are used to fight for their own success? Will there be less racially motivated violence and we will finally breath more freely?
